  • born on April 10th, 1968 in Rodewisch/Vogtland;
  • married since November 2nd 2006;
  • one son (born 2008), one daughter (born 2012)
  • participant of the 18th International Chemistry Olympiad in Leiden(The Netherlands) 1986;
     
  • studied chemistry in Merseburg; diploma in the group of Prof. Dr. J. Winkelmann about density profiles and surface properties of nonpolar and polar fluids;
     
  • worked in the research group of Prof. Dr. D. Steinborn (Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg) on a
    theme about platinum(II)-complexes, especially on
    [K(18-crown-6)]2[Pt2Cl6];
     
  • completed successfully additional education and practical training in project management and the management of globally operating companies with certificates as project manager and manager for globally operating companies
     
  • joined in 1998 the research group of Prof. Dr. J. V. Kratz (Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz, Institut für Kernchemie) to investigate in the gas-phase chemistry on reactive surfaces of element 108, hassium, and its lighter homologues, Ru and Os, which resulted in the CALLISTO project, a successful hassium experiment at the UNILAC accelerator of the GSI Darmstadt, which lead to the discovery of the first salt of hassium, a sodium hassate(VIII);
  • 2001-2003 employed at the GSI Darmstadt as organizer and manager of the CALLISTO project
     
  • dissertation in 2003 about gaschemical investigations of volatile oxides of ruthenium, osmium and hassium at the Institut für Kernchemie of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz
     
  • served from 2004-2006 in the Nuclear Chemistry Unit of the Institute for Transuranium Elements (Karlsruhe/Germany) of the DG JRC of the European Commission
     
  • served 2006-2009 in the Nuclear Safeguards Unit of the Institute for the Protection and the Security of the Citizen (Ispra/Italy) of the DG JRC of the European Commission
     
  • employed since 2009 at the Nuclear Safeguards Directorate of the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission
     
  • hobbies include CALLISTO, Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda, music, movies, some sports and everything which is connected with a computer.
